We aim to provide a different model for teachers and students from that displayed by the modern commercialisation of yoga. We adhere to the core practices of yoga that provide a philosophical path of physical, mental and emotional development.
We are committed to yoga principles - although we charge for our services we want to contrast our ethos with the overcharging and excess profits we see in the modern yoga world. We are guided by the yoga principles of modesty, enthusiasm and cheerfulness rather then commercialism and self promotion.
We do not endorse gurus or any specific religious systems
We have many years of experience in teaching and teacher training. Our knowledge and skills are rooted and informed by our own practice of yoga.
Back in the mid 80's I came to yoga. I have kept up a regular practice since then. My initial reason for doing yoga was physical stiffness [something that is no longer a problem!]..

With a background in British Wheel of Yoga, Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga I trained to teach with the BWY and further as a teacher trainer and verifier. I subsequently became Chair of the BWY Education Section and later in a time of crisis Chair of the whole organsation which was turned round under my leadership.
I was one of the early UK teachers of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and was one of the first to bring yoga into the sports and fitness areas, specifically in the sports department of Aberystwyth University where I have taught for over 20 years. I have taught many specialist groups ranging from children to preganancy and one to one therapy.
In the pre-Covid world I taught 6 classes a week to a wide range of students and now teach a mixture of online and face to face classes.
I have many other hobbies ranging from beekeeping and gardening to motor biking and sailing. I am interested in philosophy, psychology, economics, how to develop critical and logical thinking and find these areas all have a great overlap with the philosophy of yoga.
My first experience of Yoga was a pregnancy class in 2002. In the subsequent years I tried a few diferent teachers and classes, but it wasn't until many years later in my late thirties that I fell in love with Yoga under the guidance of my teacher Karen Booth. Karen encouraged me to undertake BWY teacher training with Richard and the rest

I have been teaching since 2017, beginning with children and then progressing on to adult classes. I like to teach a strong Asana based practice with an emphasis on developing body awareness and connection to the breath. I have also trained in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. I have a particular interest in working with people with long
term and chronic health conditions.
Teaching and sharing Yoga brings me so much joy, and as a co-tutor on the Foundation and Teacher Training courses I love helping students to deepen their understanding and practice of Yoga.
I believe that Yoga principles run as a thread through everything that I do, helping me to live a good life. Yoga for me is not just on the mat!
