This foundation course is suitable anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge of yoga. The subjects covered range from the history and philosphy of yoga to the asanas and their relationship to our anatomy.
Students will study yoga in more depth than in class and will be encouraged to keep a diary as a way to bring yoga into their daily lives. We will work through asana and breath work as well as discussing the history and important literature of Yoga.
Although not a teaching course it is good preparation for those wishing to train to become a yoga teacher in the future.
To make the course accessible it is run online with fortnightly meetings and video lectures as well as suggested home study. We will set up an optional face to face session to revisit the practical elements of the course. This will depend on demand and will be an additional cost.
We are surprised at the costs of many comparable courses [not for the first time!!] and have tried to provide a format which makes our training accessible to everyone.
We provide 5 half days by Zoom and a program of online lectures.
The cost of the course is £150.
OUR NEXT COURSE IS DUE TO START:
The course takes about 10 weeks with 5 fortnightly online meetings. The Zoom meetings last around 3 hours, which we find is about the maximum that attention can be sustained online! There will also be recorded lectures to recap the info on the day. A program of home practice is also included.
There is an optional in-person practical session (at extra cost) after the end of the course.
An interest to improve your knowledge of yoga! The course is open to everyone, but obviously will most benefit those who are already practicing and want to look at the aspects of yoga that are often not covered in the average class.
No, it is not a prerequisite for teacher training, but It is an ideal stepping stone for those who may wish to undertake teacher training in the future. It also is an opportunity to study with us before committing to teacher training.
